I’m on the Basic plan and I want to remove the native map and icons blocks from the Thank you page. Currently, this is only possible on Shopify Plus, which doesn’t make sense for such a basic customization that has no security or structural impact on checkout.
The Thank you page is the last impression a customer has after purchasing. Being unable to control what appears there — without upgrading to a plan designed for enterprise merchants — is a significant limitation for small and medium businesses.
Please make the removal of native blocks on the Thank you and Order status pages available on all plans.
Let me be honest with you, there’s no fix for this on Basic right now. Removing native blocks like the map and icons from the Thank You and Order status pages can only be done through the checkout editor, and that’s locked to Shopify Plus, so it’s a genuine plan limitation, not a setting you’ve missed.
The old workaround people used to rely on, dropping a bit of CSS into the Order status page “Additional scripts” box to hide the map, is gone too, because Shopify moved checkout onto the new extensibility system and removed that field, so that trick no longer works on migrated stores. And since those pages are hosted by Shopify rather than being part of your theme, custom code can’t reach them on a non-Plus plan either, so there’s really no way around it short of upgrading.
For what it’s worth I think your request is fair, it’s a small change with no security impact, and gating it behind an enterprise plan does sting for smaller stores. The one thing actually worth doing is pushing the request where it’ll be seen, post it on community.shopify.dev where Shopify staff and the product team engage, because a feature request sitting here in Store Design won’t reach them.
Unfortunately, this is one of the current limitations of Shopify’s checkout customization.
On non-Plus plans, the native sections on the Thank You and Order Status pages are managed entirely by Shopify. While you can add supported app blocks through Checkout Extensibility, you can’t remove or hide Shopify’s built-in elements like the pickup map or system icons. It’s not a missing setting—those controls simply aren’t available outside Shopify Plus.
I agree it would be useful if Shopify made these blocks optional for all plans. If enough merchants request it, there’s a much better chance it’ll make it onto the product roadmap. I’d recommend posting the suggestion on the Shopify developer community as well, since that’s where the product team is more likely to see and evaluate feature requests.
Hopefully Shopify expands these customization options in the future.
I completely agree that merchants should have more control over the Thank you and Orders status pages.
For many brands, the post-purchase experience is an important part of the customer journey, and being able to remove or rearrange native blocks like the map or icon sections is fairly basic customization. It doesn’t seem like the kind of change that should require a Shopify Plus Plan.
At the moment, Shopify restricts many checkout and post-purchase customizations to Plus, so on the Basic plan there isn’t a supported way to remove those native blocks.
If enough merchants are asking for this, I’d encourage everyone affected to upvote this feature request and share specific use cases. Real-world examples of how these blocks impact branding or customer experience can help Shopify prioritize the feature.
Hopefully Shopify expands these customization options to all plans in the future while continuing to reserve the more advanced checkout functionality for Plus.
