I have shopify advanced plan and i want to switch it back to the basic plan. I want to ask there will there be any problem with my store after that or everything would run smooth with the basic plan. What are the possible drawbacks?
Hi Wrenin,
The visible drawback of downgrading plan from Advanced to Basic is you’ll lose all the advanced features:
-
unable to create custom reports
-
a higher credit card rate via Shopify Payments or a higher transaction fee with a 3rd party payment
-
staff member limits would drop from 15 to 2
-
extra cost to use the “Real-Time Carrier Shipping” feature.
Hi, @wrenin
Thanks for posting your question to the Community Forums.
As @Van_Nguyen_GSG mentioned, there are a few feature losses when downgrading, including what she mentioned. However, it’s important to note that Carrier Calculated Shipping is not available on the Basic Plan any longer. In order to have Carrier Calculated Shipping you will need to be on the Shopify Plan or higher. If you use this feature, downgrading won’t be an option.
Can you elaborate on why you are looking to downgrade?
