I have a Drop ship website. What is the proper way to calculate cost to make a profit while including Shopify fees, taxes, etc..
Hi @LatishaH ,
For pricing, one simple method is cost-based pricing. Basically, you add up all your costs (COGS, shipping, Shopify fees, taxes & tariffs), and then add a markup to make a profit. A common rule of thumb is a 3x markup. So, if your total cost per product is $15, you’d price it at $45.
But pricing isn’t just about covering costs. You also need to think about your competitors (how your price stacks up), perceived value (could customers pay more if the product seems higher quality?), and market demand (are people willing to pay a premium?).
By balancing all these factors, you will find the right price to be profitable, not just cover costs.
Hope this helps
And feel free to let me know if you have any other questions!
