Combining variant bundles with discounts

I have used the bundler app to build some great variant bundles but would like to add say a 10% off all products discount at checkout with a customer code, or applied to customers that have subscribed to the newsletter. I’ve got a 2.0 theme, any thoughts on how I can do this? Any help, recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

Question for you: Does the customer need to be choosing a bundled product to receive the discount?

In reading this page on Shopify’s Discount tool, they state the following:

When you create a discount code, you can specify the following:

  • the dates for which the code is valid
  • the number of times that a code can be used
  • a minimum order amount before the code can be used
  • which products, collections, or variants the discount can be applied to
  • if the discount combines with other discount classes

Would a workable solution be to create a discount code, for a certain product, then send out that discount code in your newsletter?

If there’s something I’m missing, pls let me know!

Thanks for getting back to me, but unfortunately not. Shopify say that you can’t combine order discounts with product discounts. So, let’s say I have a product available in 25 flavours and 3 sizes. I have set them up as 25 individual products, with the sizes as the variant. Using the bundler app the customer can choose say 4 flavours from the 25 available in the medium variant for £15 instead of £20. That works fine. Now lets say I want to offer to 10% discount to new customers. so if they bought the same bundle they should get a total order cost of £13.50. There seems to be no way to do this.

Basically you have two type of discount 1 for regular customer another is either new customer or subscriber.

You can create customer segment at admin of first time users or user have tag subscribe.

Now create a new automatic discount for that customer segment. Would not recommended to create additional 10% off, instead create discount for total amount like giving discount of £6.5.

Hi there,

To achieve this, I recommend setting up an Amount Off Order discount in Shopify and enabling combinations with Order discounts.

After that, you can create your bundle offers in the BOGOS App. With this bundle feature, shoppers can freely choose any variants they want.

Once both are set, the BOGOS bundle discount and the Shopify Amount Off Order discount will work together at checkout.
