Does Shopify refund remaining plan subscription bill?

Deactivating shopify account but paid for a year. Does Shopify refund the remaining unused subscription fees?

Hi @KreatedW

Great question! Generally speaking Shopify does not provide refunds for subscription fees. If you were to change your plan (or deactivate your store) the remaining subscription costs you paid for would be applied as a credit to the store account and used to pay for future subscription costs.

If you do not believe you will be reactivating this store, or any other store on Shopify, then you can reach out to our authenticated support team to review this request. We are happy to look at these situations on a case by case basis. To access our authenticated support, please follow this link: Shopify Help Center. Next, you will want to follow the on screen prompts to sign in, choose your topic and issue and at the bottom of the help articles provided will be all available support options.

Is there any specific reason you are deciding to deactivate your store? Is there anything that I might be able to assist with?

Hey Good morning Shay,

Im reaching out because I was charged for a subscription for a shop that a client of mine had started. I wasn’t aware my card was still on file for this. Now I was charged a Significant fee. It is well within the 3 days of the billing. How can I get this Refunded back to me? As this store is no longer active.

Hi @AuraPrinting23

In this situation I recommend contacting the store owner to ask them to request the refund on your behalf. If you are not able to resolve this with the account owner then I would instead contact partner support to see if we can refund the payment.

You can find the contact for partner support in your partner dashboard under the Support tab.
