Duplicating a store

Hi there,

I want to duplicate a theme to another store. I don’t need customer data or products to be copied over. I just need the exact same layout for another shop.

I’ve downloaded my theme and uploaded it to the other store but the editor just shows 404 page and nothing but the header and footer, no other sections.

This is not a paid theme.

Does anyone know how to solve this/ have a better way around it?

  1. Go to: Online Store > Themes > Edit Code
  2. Check: Is templates/index.json (or index.liquid) missing?
  3. If missing → Shopify shows 404 and no homepage sections
