Hello, I am hoping someone can help with providing the code I need to edit my Order Confirmation template. We have some items that ship from a different warehouse - I need the order confirmation email to show only the items that have been updated at the time of them receiving the email. For example, when the last part of the order has been shipped, they get the email to let them know, however it shows all items in the order, not the part that has been updated. In the attached screenshot, the item circled was the last item to be shipped however it shows the additional item ordered as well even though that was shipped earlier in the day. Can anyone help?
@Indy1 I’d be happy to help with this. Just to clarify, are you talking about the order confirmation email, or the shipping confirmation email? The order confirmation email is only supposed to send once after the customer places the order, versus the shipping confirmation email that sends when things actually ship out.
Second, can you clarify what you mean by update? Are you saying that when things ship from a different warehouse, you only want the email to show the items that have been shipped in that specific fulfillment of the order, versus showing all of the items that shipped in the entire order?
Yes, the shipping confirmation… didn’t realise I said the wrong one! And yes we ship from separate warehouses, so when the order is partially fulfilled from one warehouse, the shipping confirmation email needs to only show the items that were fulfilled and not the items in the entire order, as the order gets fulfilled at different times from each warehouse.
@Indy1 I just tried this on my end with different fulfillments, and the shipping confirmation email is only showing the fulfilled products within that specific fulfillment, not separate ones as shown below:
I’d like to look through an example on your admin end to try to figure out why I’m getting different results on my end. Feel free to reach out to me using the info in my signature.
@Indy1 Just wanted to follow up and see if you still needed help with this?
Hey @Indy1 ,
Totally get the frustration, Shopify’s default emails show all items in the order, even if only one of them is being shipped at that moment. Unfortunately there’s no built-in way to only show the items included in the current fulfillment unless you dive into some custom code, which can get a little tricky.
One workaround many brands use is relying less on Shopify’s default emails and instead using a post-purchase tool like ParcelPanel Order Tracking. It automatically updates your customers with a branded tracking page that reflects the real-time shipping status even if the order is fulfilled in parts. That way, your customer sees exactly what’s been shipped, what’s on the way, and what’s already delivered.
It saves a lot of confusion and “where’s my order?” messages especially when you’re shipping from multiple warehouses.
Hope this helps!
And if it solves the issue, feel free to mark it as a solution so others can find it too ![]()
