Feature request: Add descriptions to Managed Markets carrier-calculated shipping rates
Hi Shopify team,
I’m currently using Managed Markets in the UK with carrier-calculated shipping rates through DHL and FedEx.
As I understand it, the rate names and details for these services are controlled directly by Shopify and the carriers. Unlike manual shipping rates, there does not appear to be an option to add a custom description or delivery details field.
This is creating a real issue for international conversions. For example, I’m unable to add an important message such as “duties and taxes prepaid” at checkout, even though this is a major selling point for international customers.
Manual shipping rates already allow descriptions to be added, so it would make sense for Managed Markets carrier-calculated rates to have the same option.
This is having a significant impact on our international orders, as customers are not clearly seeing that duties and taxes are included before they complete their purchase.
Please could the Shopify development team look into adding a description field for Managed Markets carrier-calculated shipping rates?
