Feature request

Hi Shopify Community,

I’d like to request a feature enhancement for the Orders list view in the Shopify admin. Currently, the orders list only shows the order number, customer name, date, total, and status — but not the product names included in each order.

Being able to see product names (or at least the first item) directly in the orders list would save merchants a significant number of clicks, especially when scanning for specific orders or doing quick fulfillment checks.

Proposed improvement: Add a “Items” or “Products” column to the orders list that shows the product name(s) for each order — similar to how some 3PL and OMS platforms display it.

This would be particularly useful for stores with a focused product catalog where the item name is often the fastest way to identify an order at a glance.

Thanks for considering this!

Hello there @Scansliv
Great suggestion and yes this would definitely increase the pace of order scanning for high volume merchant clients.

A good workaround for the time being is to use Shopify Flow with order tags or metafield to record the first line item name on order creation. Then, you can bring that information up in the Orders list by turning on the corresponding column or applying a filter view. Some merchants are also tagging products type automatically for quick identification without need to open each order.
