I want to make the images Clickable in Multicolumn - Dawn Theme latest version

I am using the below code which works but there a few glitches with the latest updates in the theme :

I am unable to customize the no., of columns i want to show in each row on desktop & mobile. Its auto set to 1 column on mobile & i made some changes so i managed to get 3 columns on desktop.

Can anyone suggest changes to code that can help me get 2 columns on mobile view too ?

Hi @OpapStyle

You can use the default multicolumn section of the latest dawn theme, add link and button for column then add this code to Custom CSS in Sales channels > Online store > Themes >Customize > Theme settings to make columns clickable.

.multicolumn-card__info .link:after {
    content: '';
    position: absolute;
    top: 0;
    left: 0;
    right: 0;
    bottom: 0;
}

Hey @OpapStyle ,

To show 2 columns on mobile view in your Shopify multicolumn section, you’ll need to override the default grid–1-col behavior on smaller screens.

Step 1: Modify the ul Grid Classes

Find this section in your code:

Replace it with this:

```markup
Step 2: Add CSS for 2 Columns on Mobile
In your section-multicolumn.css or custom stylesheet, add:
```css
@media screen and (max-width: 749px) {
  .grid--2-col-mobile {
    display: grid;
    grid-template-columns: repeat(2, 1fr);
    gap: var(--grid-mobile-horizontal-spacing, 1rem);
  }
}

And that’s it! You should now see 2 columns on mobile, and everything else will remain as-is.

If you’d like to make the number of mobile columns customizable via the Theme Editor or need help implementing it directly, feel free to reach out — I’d be happy to assist!

Hi Rajat!

i tried the above but the column now look too small and wierd - image below

Hi Dan,

The code didnt work it shows an error

So please add the code at bottom of base.css file

I think the image is clickable but the text also shows which i write as button label - i just want the images to show & be clickable no text under them ..

Please add this additional code

.multicolumn-card__info .link {
opacity: 0;
height: 0;
}

Sorry, please add this additional code instead.

.multicolumn-card__info { opacity: 0; padding: 0 !important; }

This works! now one last glitch - the space between the columns how do we reduce that cus it shows empty gap due to the no visibility of th text

desktop view & mobile view

this is how it looks now .. You think we can reduce the gap further?
