Need Guidance for Shopify to WordPress Migration

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to migrate my website from Shopify back to WordPress, and I would appreciate some guidance from those who have experience with this process.

The website was originally built on WordPress, then moved to Shopify, and now we want to switch back to WordPress again. My main concern is avoiding any SEO loss during the migration.

Here are my main questions:

  1. What is the safest way to migrate from Shopify to WordPress while preserving SEO rankings?

  2. How should I properly handle 301 redirects from Shopify URLs to WordPress URLs?

  3. What is the best way to export products, pages, blogs, and metadata?

  4. Are there any recommended tools or plugins for a smooth migration?

  5. Anything specific I should watch out for regarding Google indexing or Search Console?

The domain is currently active on Shopify, but WordPress and hosting are already set up on the server.

I want to make sure the transition is technically clean and does not negatively affect traffic or search rankings.

Any detailed advice or real experience would be greatly appreciated.

I would also like to know the reason why you decided to move back to WordPress. If this is because of poor built-in blog capabilities, you can always use blog apps. A lot of them offer a lot of features even in free versions.
