Hi, we are looking for a payment gateway which will allow for pay by instalment credit cards in Brazil. I had seen documentation for Mercado Pago but I cannot find in the payment providers area of shopify. We are based in the EU, I am not sure if this is the reason I cannot see? Any help appreciated on what options are available
PagarMe is what we use for installment payments by credit card. But they only except Brazilian residents.
Our problem is Shopify doesnt offer a payment gateway that accepts Brazilian installment payments AND international. Stripe is good but doesnt handle installment payments. This is a major headache as 90% of Brazilians want to pay by installment. We can install a local provider (like PagarMe, not Stripe), but then we lose international clients.
I wish Shopify would let owners have multiple gateways.

With more advanced payment systems, some merchants address this by using payment routing, which allows for different processors depending on the customer’s country or checkout terms. This allows for support for both Brazilian installments and international cards.
Stripe supports Pix, the most used payment method.
So, check your stripe account payment settings, if it supports Pix you can use a third party Shopify Stripe Checkout solution.
Now, most of Stripe accounts support Pix.
