I’ve been pondering some ideas to improve our analytical capabilities when it comes to tracking app performance and understanding the marketplace better.
Currently, we manually gather information from the Shopify App Store, but wouldn’t it be fantastic if we had a dedicated API that provides access to app store data? This API could allow us to retrieve data like:

Get All Apps: Obtain a comprehensive list of all apps available on the Shopify App Store.

Get Apps from Certain Category: Filter and retrieve apps based on specific categories, making it easier to focus on areas of interest.

Get App Details: Access detailed information about individual apps, including their features, pricing, and more.

Track Reviews: Monitor and track user reviews for apps to gain insights into customer feedback and satisfaction.

RSS Feed with Reviews for App Developers: Have an RSS feed to receive real-time reviews, enabling us to stay updated effortlessly.
This API could be a game-changer, streamlining our analytical processes and empowering us to make more data-driven decisions. Since this data is already public and accessible through the Shopify App Store, it seems feasible and advantageous to have an official API for these purposes.
