Required variables for Draft Order Notification?

Hi all,

My question is, are there any variables that are absolutely required for he Draft Order Invoice template?

The context:

I am using my marketing automation platform to help me create a new template for the Draft order invoice notification.

The MAP (Klaviyo) has Shopify notification templates available for use, but unfortunately none for Draft Orders. I was advised by them to use Shopify’s variable guidance to make an existing template to work for Draft orders. When I export the HTML template and paste it into order confirmation in Shopify (the original template used in Klaviyo) it works great, but when I paste it into Draft Order it is firing an error that says “Error retrieving email preview”

Hi all,

I figured out the answer to my own question. In case anyone else is wondering, I was missing {{custom_messaging}}

The way I figured this out was by saving my template and it provided more detail on the issue. I was initially hesitant to try and save if it wouldn’t work or needed to change upon preview. It would be wonderful if Shopify could offer a testing environment for these things so we don’t have to save progress before it’s ready to go live.
