Hi everyone ![]()
I’m hoping someone here might be able to guide me through this.
Currently, we have two separate Shopify stores - one for .com and one for .co.uk. They carry the exact same products (same SKUs and barcodes) and use the same theme. The only real difference is slight language customisation between the two sites.
We’re now planning to merge and keep one as the main domain, with the other running as a subdomain or subfolder (still deciding on the best structure).
Has anyone done a similar merge recently? I’d really appreciate any advice on how to make the process as smooth as possible - especially in terms of:
-
Migrating products, customers, and order history
-
Handling redirects properly
-
Avoiding duplication issues
I’m also a bit unsure about product localisation. If we move to one store with multiple markets:
-
Where do you set different currencies and prices?
-
How do different product names and descriptions per market work?
-
Is this handled via Shopify Markets, Translate & Adapt, or somewhere else?
Any recent experience, tips, or things to watch out for would be hugely appreciated ![]()
