Slide Show Blocking drop down menu sense theme

Hello,I am currently using the sense theme,however the slide show is blocking my drop down menu whenever i click on menu items.I have tried adding this code which i saw worked for the dawn theme however its still not working.

slideshow__slide { z-index: 1 !important; }

header__submenu { z-index: 99; }

You can follow these steps:

1. Go to Online Store->Theme->Edit code

2. Open your theme.liquid file, paste the below code before

hi,

i just added the code to the theme.liquid file, however its still showing the menu behind the slideshow.I added a screen shot of how the menu is at the moment even after i added the code.

so i tried adding the code to the them.liquid file and it did not work.However i tried adding important! and it did.Ultimately I would like to find out what changes i made to cause this.so this is what i did in the end to make it work.
