Sorting by Estimated Arrival Date

store/product description

We are a B2B store that sells wall art, home goods and stationery among other items.

What feedback do you want?

We would love to be able to sort our purchase orders by estimated arrival date! So we can easily sort through which ones are coming in soon in this view as well as the transfer view.

Quick check on what you’re sorting, because it changes the answer. If you mean the Orders list in admin, Shopify only sorts by its built-in fields like date, total and status, so there’s no native “estimated arrival” sort to turn on. The usual workaround is to store the ETA as an order metafield or a tag, then either use an app that exposes metafield sorting or build saved views around date-based tags. Not elegant, but it works without waiting on Shopify to ship it.

If you actually mean incoming purchase orders from your suppliers, that’s more inventory territory and native Shopify POs are thin here. One thing worth knowing, Stocky is being retired at the end of August, so if you were planning to lean on it for PO dates I’d factor that in now.

Which side is it, customer orders or your own supplier POs? Happy to point you at the cleaner path once I know which one you’re working with.

Hey @cristinawg ,

I think this would be a very useful enhancement especially for merchants managing a large number of purchase orders and inventory transfers.

Based on your store it looks like you manage a diverse wholesale catalog. Being able to sort by Estimated Arrival Date would make it much easier to prioritize incoming shipments plan inventory and quickly identify what’s arriving next without having to open each purchase order individually.

Extending the same sorting option to both the Purchase Orders and Transfers views would create a more consistent workflow. I think this would be a valuable quality of life improvement for merchants using Shopify’s inventory management tools.

Thank You !

I am referring to our own supplier POs.
