Split one product into two orders

Hi everybody, please help with this problem. I need to assign my product into multiple orders (for multiple locations) because one location can not afford the stock customer requires.

Eg:

Order placed: 2 barbie dolls

Location A has 1 barbie doll

Location B has 1 barbie doll

=> i need this to split this order into 2 locations but Shopify can not do so.

Is there any way to get help from Shopify Developer team or App?

Hi @thuyyyy

This absolutely something that you can do from within the order details.

If you open the order in your admin you can click the 3 dots in the item card and there will be an option to change the fulfillment location. You should be able to set different fulfillment locations for multiples of the same item. If you need additional help with that, please don’t hesitate to contact our authenticated support channels for further assistance.

Hi @Shay , i concern that its not good way because if you check in details at that fuction, you could see that the whole order would be change to other location, which means that it does not allow to fix for 1 specific product. I would love to hear other solutions from you.

Hey @thuyyyy

It looks like we are actually rolling out some additional functionality for this over the next few weeks (hopefully). I don’t have a firm timeline, but we are working on allowing individual fulfillment changes per each line item. I will happily update this thread once this function goes live.

Just want to catchup with the additional functionality you’ve mentioned on order split. Has it been released?

Yes! It looks like Split Fulfillment has been released, and when you click on the 3 dots next to a line item in an order with multiple quantities you should see an option to “Split” the item. Even if they are fulfilled from the same location, or a different location, they will now show as two separate line items to be fulfilled.
