Trying to Change Payment Settings But Plaid Changed my Bank Account Number

I am trying to change my bank account payment settings. When I set it up, it was through Plaid and they change the bank account number to a virtual number and there is NO way to find that number. So when I have to verify old bank account, its a number that I have ZERO access to. The suport advisor is useless. They keep telling me to verify the old bank account that I dont have the number for. I finally got someone to say they escalated this but I got an email message a day later saying the chat was closed.

Can someone at Shopify please help me to reset my payment bank account?

And why is the verification method to enter your bank account number when Plaid changes it? It doesnt make any sense at all.

If Plaid masks the original account number, you can’t verify it on your own. The most likely method or solution will be to request a manual bank change through proof of identity and escalation. You’ll need to be persistent and remind them in follow-ups about your support ticket.

Thanks Roan, Ill try that. This is by far the STUPIDEST verification system I have ever encountered. Shopify has the same BS and I cant change my payments to new bank. I have my original bank numbers, so this is pretty bizarre.
