variant picker customized Dawn theme

Question 1: The product page on the Dawn theme only has two options for the variant picker, either pills or dropdown but I need both. I prefer color in pills and sizes in dropdown menu options as so many available sizes.

how can I adit the codes?

Question 2: How to set up the variant picker to be able to input figures as the product is customized sizes.
