Which site audit wesbite is best?

I find websites like Semrush through up a lot of errors on my shopify store that turn out to be things I should ignore or that I can do nothing about.

Which website offers the best way to get an audit on a shopify store that is accurate and won’t show errors that are not errors but just issues with the way Shopify is built that can’t be changed?

Hey @CZS

Honestly, this is a pretty common issue with Shopify SEO audits. Tools like Semrush are great overall, but they often flag things that are just part of how Shopify works internally and can’t really be changed.

For Shopify-specific audits, I’d probably look more into apps like:

  • Avada SEO

  • SearchPie

  • Tiny SEO

Those tend to understand Shopify structure better, so you usually get fewer “false errors” around things like canonical URLs, collections, variants, tag pages, etc.

That said, even the best Shopify SEO tools still need a bit of human filtering. In my experience, the most useful apps are the ones that help prioritize real issues instead of overwhelming you with hundreds of warnings.

Hope this helps!

Finding the best SEO tool for auditing can be challenging especially when there are lof of tools available in the market.

There are two ways to audit a Shopify website. First is that either you can use the third part websites or you can use the Shopify app.

The best and recommended option is to use the shopify apps but you can also use the third party websites as well.

Here is the list of websites that shared below:

  • Google Page Speed
  • GT Matrex
  • LightHouse
  • Speed Vitals
  • Store Tasker
  • Tinyimg
  • Ahrefs
  • Screaming Frog
  • Shopify Analyzer
  • Webp

Here are the shopify apps that worth using them.

  • SEOLab — All in #1 SEO AI
  • BOOSTER AI SEO OPTIMIZER
  • Tapita AI SEO Optimizer, Speed
  • StoreSEO: AI SEO Blog & Image

honestly, corpusiq nailed it. most general audit tools just manufacture anxiety for shopify store owners. they flag things that are literally just how shopify’s core code works. unless it’s a broken link or an actually slow loading page, don’t lose sleep over a 70% SEO score on those free auditing sites.

Hi @CZS,

Generic SEO tools like Semrush and Ahrefs are built for traditional custom websites, so they often misinterpret Shopify’s unique architecture. For example, they will constantly flag duplicate content errors for your product URLs or complain about blocked checkout pages, which are actually intentional Shopify features that you are not supposed to change.

Instead of using outside scanners that do not understand the platform, you are much better off using an audit tool built specifically for Shopify. You can check out SearchPie. This app is natively integrated and understands Shopify’s hardcoded structures and only flags the actual SEO issues you can and should fix, completely eliminating all that irrelevant, unfixable noise.

Hope this helps,

Thank you! that’s great to know.
