Recently, I noticed on my billing that I’m being charged transaction fees when my customers use a “third party” at checkout ie AfterPay Klarna Sezzle. The fee is around 2% of the order. This wasn’t on my billing in the past nor did I notice it on the order timeline. My store has been active on the basic plan for the last 5 years. None of my previous bills had these fees. Is this something new? I reached out to support but never got a reply from billing or from Shopify.
I am having the same issue.
Have my store for 2 years and never been “extra charged”. Now Shopify is charging me extra 2% for every afterpay sale.
I’ve reached the support and I am waiting for their reply as well.

As the other party above mentioned, it’s not a matter of the percentage in which we are being charged it’s more so the fact that we were not being charged this fee in the past nor were we warned that this fee is going to start to bill @KristiAtKlarna
- @fspina *Same, no reply from support. I have some other associates that use this platform as well and they are noticing the same thing. at first I thought that it was only AfterPay but it seems like it’s the other third-party companies as well. Without any warning. Literally almost as soon as the new payment gateway updates implementation took place.

Same here! I am glad to see another post on this - I have noticed the same in my fees.
Been using Shopify for a year and now all of a sudden additional “transaction fees” with no notice for POLi and Afterpay. Not happy! People want to use alternative payment methods to CC only and Shopify are forcing us to pay extra fees on offering these alternatives.
The more I use shopify the more I find negativities of the system… and increased costs 
Might need to start looking for an alternative store…
Hello, I totally agree and still no updates from Shopify support but it’s certainly a “2% transaction fee” for alternative checkout options except PayPal. And the fees are even more noticeable now due to inflation and most customers are looking to shop with payment installments.

Me too. No warning and Shopify support was not very helpful. This really affects my margins especially because Afterpay already charges such a high transaction fee. I don’t understand how Shopify can justify this charge on third party transactions when previously they didn’t and also Paypal is still 0% transaction fee.
This is absolutely ridiculous as I had the same experience and I have been searching high and low for evidence of others who have had these charges all of a sudden since July, there was no email to advise of this 2% additional fee to afterpay transactions and support could not confirm that this email was sent after I asked them several times. Support basically told me to use shop pay instead…
And unfortunately Aaron no one has ever replied to me and offered any type of explanation.

I have not contacted Shopify directly myself but I understand others have. And they follow these forums.
