Managing sales channel settings for discounts

You can adjust the settings for discounts related to sales channels from the Discounts page of your Shopify admin.

You can feature your discounts on sales channels by activating sales channel access. Settings for sales channels can be adjusted based on whether you are featuring a discount code or an automatic discount.

Sales channels where your discounts can be redeemed

The discounts that you create can be used by customers on your sales channels as well as your online store, and your ability to restrict customers from redeeming discounts is limited to the following scenarios:

• Customers can redeem discount codes on all of the sales channels that you have set up for your store. You can't restrict customers from redeeming discount codes on specific sales channels.
• Automatic discounts are applied on all the sales channels that you have set up for your store. For Point of Sale (POS) specifically, you can activate automatic discounts only for POS Pro locations. Automatic discounts are activated when you select Apply on POS Pro locations when the discount's eligibility is set to All customers, or when you assign a valid Retail market when a discount's eligibility is set to Markets.

Activating sales channel access for discount codes

You can feature your discount codes on sales channels after you activate sales channel access. Activating sales channel access to the discount code makes the information about the discount available to the channel, which allows channel admin users to feature the discount code in social media posts, ads, POS tiles, and other channel-specific promotional content.

You can activate sales channels for a discount code from the Discounts page in your Shopify admin.

Steps:

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Discounts.

2. Create a new discount code, or select the discount code you want to edit.

3. In the Sales channel access section, click Allow discount to be featured on selected channels.

4. Click Sales channels, and then select the sales channels that should have access to feature the discount.

5. Click Done.

Activating sales channel access for automatic discounts

Automatic discounts are applied on all sales channels that you have set up except for Point of Sale (POS), unless you activate it. You can activate automatic discounts only for locations with a POS Pro subscription.

Steps:

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Discounts.

2. Create a new automatic discount or select the automatic discount that you want to edit.

3. In the Availability section, select Apply on POS (Pro locations only).
