Managing POS devices in your Shopify admin
You can view and manage your Shopify POS-connected devices in the Devices view of the Point of Sale channel in your Shopify admin. You can review each device's status, location, and version details, log out a device remotely, and remove devices that you no longer use.

Requirements for using the Devices view
To use the Devices view, you must meet the following requirements:
- You have the Point of Sale channel installed in your Shopify admin.
- You have at least one device that's set up and logged in to Shopify POS.
Supported devices
The Devices view displays the following physical devices that run Shopify POS for your store:
- Shopify POS Go
- Victa Mobile
- iPhone and iPad devices
- Android devices
The information that's available for each device depends on the device type. For example, devices such as Shopify POS Go report additional hardware information that third-party iOS and Android devices don't provide.
Viewing your device list in the Shopify admin
The device list provides an overview of your Shopify POS-connected devices. Each row that's displayed includes key information about a device.
The following information is displayed for each device in the device list.
| Information | Description |
|---|---|
| Device | The device type, such as POS Go, Victa Mobile, iPhone, iPad, or Android. |
| Status | Whether the device is Online or Offline. The device appears Offline if it hasn't sent a recent update. |
| Last synced | The date of the last received update from the device. An exact date is available on the device details page. |
| POS version | The version of Shopify POS that the device runs, and whether it's up to date or out of date. |
| Location | The location where the device operates from, which is set on the device during the setup process. |
| Device mode | The device's operating mode, such as Mobile selling or Customer display. Device mode is available only on Shopify POS Go and Victa Mobile devices. |
Search and filter the device list
If you manage a large number of devices, then you can search for a specific device or filter the device list to find the devices that you want.
You can search for a device by entering its serial number in the search field. You can also filter the device list by the following attributes:
- Location: The location that the device is assigned to.
- Status: Whether the device is Online or Offline.
- POS version: Whether the device runs an Up to date or Out of date version of Shopify POS.
- Device: The device type, such as POS Go, Victa Mobile, iPhone, iPad, or Android.
You can apply more than one filter at a time. For example, you can filter the device list to display only the devices that are both Online and assigned to a specific location.
Steps:
From your Shopify admin, go to Sales channels > Point of Sale.
Click Devices.
Click the
icon.
Do either of the following:
- To search for a device, enter its serial number in the search field.
- To filter the device list, click the filter that you want to apply, and then select the values to filter by.
Optional: To add another filter, click the
icon.
Viewing your device's details
To view more information about a specific device, click a device in the list. The device details page includes the following information about a device.

|---|---|
| Logged in account | The staff account that's currently logged in to the device. |
| Pinned in user | The staff member pinned in to the device. To view their details, click View user. On third-party devices, this field might not appear immediately. |
| Status | Whether the device is Online or Offline. |
| Shopify data | The date and time that the device last synced with Shopify. |
| POS app | The version of Shopify POS that the device runs. |
| Customer View | The version of the Customer View app that the device runs. Available on first-party devices, such as Shopify POS Go. |
| Store location | The location that's assigned to the device. To view the location's details, click View location. |
| Smart grid template | The smart grid template that's assigned to the device, which controls the layout of the Shopify POS home screen. Click Edit template to edit the smart grid template for the device. Learn more about managing your smart grid templates. |
| Device mode | The device's operating mode, such as Mobile selling or Customer display. Device mode is available only on Shopify POS Go and Victa Mobile devices. |
| Brand | The device manufacturer, such as Apple. |
| Device ID | The unique identifier for the device. |
| Serial number | The manufacturer's serial number for the device. |
| Machine ID | The hardware model identifier for the device, such as iPhone18,5. |
| OS version | The version of the operating system that the device runs, such as iOS 26.5. |
| Battery level | The device's current battery charge, as a percentage. |
| Power source | How the device is powered, such as Wired or Battery. |
Additional information for Shopify POS Go
Shopify POS Go devices include an Additional information section on the device details page. This section displays the device's Wi-Fi network and whether it's connected to a printer, as well as version details for the following software:
- Browser
- File Vault
- Firmware
- Launcher
- ROM
Log out a device remotely
You can remotely log out a device that's lost, stolen, or no longer used. The device remains in the device list after you log it out. Remote logout can take up to 5 minutes to complete.
Steps:
From your Shopify admin, go to Sales channels > Point of Sale.
Click Devices.
Click the device that you want to log out.
Click Log out from store.
In the dialog, click Log out.
Remove a device from your device list
When you remove a device, it's logged out and then archived, which hides it from the device list. To restore a device that you removed, log back in to Shopify POS on that device, and then the device is displayed in the device list again.
Steps:
From your Shopify admin, go to Sales channels > Point of Sale.
Click Devices.
Click the device that you want to remove.
Click Remove device.
In the dialog, confirm that you want to remove the device.
