Receiving stock transfers on Shopify POS
Staff can receive incoming transfers from other retail locations on Shopify POS using the Transfers POS UI extension. An inventory transfer must be created within your Shopify admin first, and displays in the Stocky Transfers POS UI extension at the destination location receiving the transfer.
Receiving inventory transfers with a barcode scanner in Shopify POS
Receiving inventory transfers with a barcode scanner in Shopify POS lets you quickly and accurately update your inventory as new stock arrives at your retail location. You can use your POS device’s camera or a connected barcode scanner to scan incoming items, review accepted or rejected quantities, and finalize inventory transfers so that your stock levels are always current.
Step 1: Add inventory transfers to a POS device's smart grid
Make sure to add an inventory transfer tile to each POS device that you want to receive inventory.
Steps:
From Shopify POS, tap Add tile within the smart grid.
Tap App > Stocky.
In the Inventory transfers field, tap Add.
Tap Save.
Step 2: Receive transfers
You can receive transfers in Shopify POS. Accepted items become available at the destination location, and the transfer can't be undone.
Steps:
- In Shopify POS, tap Transfers on the smart grid.
- In the In transit tab, tap the transfer that you want to receive.
- Receive the items in the transfer with any of the following actions:
- Tap the item in the transfer that you want to receive, and then tap
+to accept or reject the appropriate number of items. - Tap Scan to use your POS device's camera to scan each product that you received.
- Use your barcode scanner to scan each product that you received, or manually update the number of products that you received. If there are products in the transfer that you want to reject, then use the Reject section of the item transfer to change the inventory that you're receiving.
- Tap the item in the transfer that you want to receive, and then tap
- Tap Done to finish reviewing the product that you're receiving.
- Optional: If you received all the items in the transfer, then you can tap Accept all items to complete the entire transfer in bulk.
- After you review each product in the transfer, tap Save.
The statuses for the items in the transfer update to reflect the choices that you made when receiving the transfer. If you only partially received a product, then you can repeat the steps to accept any remaining items. Any received amounts can't be undone in the Shopify POS app.
