Print Barcode Labels from Purchase Orders - Anyone else?

Is anyone else interested in being able to print barcode labels natively within Shopify Purchase Orders?

The recent purchase order updates have been a great improvement, but this feels like one important missing piece. Being able to print barcode labels directly from the exact quantities received on a PO would make inventory management significantly more efficient and help improve inventory accuracy.

From a workflow perspective, this seems like a relatively straightforward feature to implement, and it would add a lot of value for retailers who rely on accurate receiving and tagging.

Would love to see this included in a future update.

I don’t understand why this problem isn’t at the top of the list. Every merchant would love to print labels and barcodes directly from a PO, without making the same job twice.

Hope anybody here could help us about it.

This is the benefit of custom apps that people often look at and frown on due to the extra expense. Custom apps give you the “nice to have” features that Shopify may not have as a high priority against their wall of prioritized items. Custom apps are focused and cater very closely to what their subscribers want.

Retailer-turned-developer here, so full disclosure: I built an app for exactly this after hitting the same wall. FlochLabels adds a “print labels” flow on top of the new native Transfers: it reads the received quantities off the transfer so label counts pre-fill (no manual counting), generates valid GS1 EAN-13s for any items missing barcodes and saves them back to the product, and prints to Avery 5160/8160 sheets or Dymo rolls as a PDF. For POs from outside Shopify there’s a CSV import that takes any export. It’s in App Store review right now, but it installs fine via direct link and the free tier (200 labels/mo) covers a typical receiving day. If anyone wants to beta test it before Stocky goes away in August, reply or DM and I’ll send the link + help you set up personally.
